Carrie Hollister is a self taught artist. Her artistic nature was encouraged both at home and in the public schools of upstate New York. She graduated from high school early and moved to NYC with her sister and cat. Carrie made jewelry, and sold her designs in the ladies' room of CBGB's and on the sidewalks of Soho. She worked as an assistant to painter Loren MacIver and 3-D artist James Rizzi. Her jobs provided enough freedom to allow for sojourns in Mexico, Central and South America, Southeast Asia and Morocco. Carrie's interest in painting flourished during these trips. Eventually shifting her base to the west coast, she and partner Mauro Ffortissimo co-created Enso. The project is now in its 18th year as a community center for yoga and art.
Carrie continues to paint and travel. She also devotes herself to feline Trap/ Neuter/ Release programs in California and Mexico. Carrie and Mauro share their home with nine cats.
